Cricket News: Inzamam-ul-Haq, former Pakistan captain and great cricketer was rushed to hospital on Monday after having a heart attack. After suffering a heart attack, Inzamam is currently hospitalised in Lahore, where he underwent a successful angioplasty. His agent has notified the media that Inzamam’s condition has stabilised, although he is still being monitored.

Notably, Inzamam had been experiencing chest pain for the past three days. Initial tests cleared him, according to ESPNcricinfo, but scans on Monday indicated that he had suffered a heart attack. Inzamam was then transported to the hospital for surgery. His representative informed him that a stent had been implanted in Inzamam’s heart.

The famous batsman is one of Pakistan’s best ODI and Test run-scorers. In 120 Tests, Inzamam-ul-Haq scored 8830 runs. With 11,739 runs from 378 ODIs, he is Pakistan’s leading ODI run-scorer. In ODIs, he scored 10 hundred and 83 half-centuries, while in Tests, he scored 25 centuries and 46 half-centuries. He resigned from international cricket in 2007 and has worked as a batting consultant since then. From 2016 to 2019, he also served as Pakistan’s chief selector.

The cricketing community flocked to social media to wish Inzamam a fast recovery. “Wishing Inzamam-ul-Haq all the best, pray he recovers completely and remains a part of our game for many many years,” Indian pundit Harsha Bhogle tweeted. Meanwhile, former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed tweeted on Twitter, “Prayers for a swift recovery for @Inzamam08 Bhai. He will be OK, inshallah.”
