Cricket News: To stop jinxing Suryakumar Yadav’s form, Harsha Bhogle asks the troll to be quiet

Cricket News: Numerous well-known sports experts have received unwarranted abuse on social media throughout the years simply for expressing their frank and unvarnished opinions about the game. While some of them decide to ignore them, others don’t think twice before responding.

The cricketing voice of India When Harsha Bhogle was criticised by a troll for analysing Suryakumar Yadav’s purple patch after his game-winning 51-ball 111* in the second T20I against New Zealand at the Bay Oval, the troll did not back down.

I have to be honest here: Aditya Bhogle

On Sunday, November 20, following Suryakumar Yadav’s second T20I century, Bhogle tweeted that it was a pleasure for him to watch a player at the peak of his abilities.

The seasoned commentator’s plaudits for the middle-order white-ball expert, however, did not sit well with one of the spectators. He approached Harsha and requested him to tone down his praise of the batter’s form.

The supporter also appeared to issue a threat to the versatile cricket guru, claiming that if Yadav’s form is cursed by Bhogle’s analysis, he will be subject to the wrath of the entire nation.

Harsha Bhogle noticed this tweet and stood up to tell the guy that he is merely doing his job as a pundit and not a “witch doctor,” and that he is not.

Rewinding to the second T20I, Suryakumar Yadav carried sole responsibility for India’s run-scoring by counter-attacking the Kiwi bowlers in the middle and final overs. The visitors were held to a total of 191/6 thanks to Tim Southee’s hat trick in the last over.

Despite skipper Kane Williamson’s valiant innings of a 52-ball 61, the score was more than enough for the Indian bowlers to defend, and all-rounder Deepak Hooda’s match-winning bowling figures of 4/10 bowled New Zealand out for 126 runs in the penultimate over.

Suryakumar Yadav was named Player of the Match, and India’s comprehensive 65-run victory gave them a 1-0 series lead.
