Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois supports the continuation of the season and believes that the early decision to declare Barcelona the champion would be extremely unjust.
The Belgian commented on the possibility of continuing the football competition in Spain for Belgian television.
“We are only two points behind Barcelona and if the season is now over and Barcelona is declared a champion, it would simply be unfair. We played a draw with them and once beat them, we were a better team,” the Real Madrid goalkeeper said.
He added that it would be different in Spain than in England: “With Liverpool this is a different case because they are still far ahead of the runner-up team.”
To him and his teammates, the first wish now is to continue the championship. “I want to end this season. We have to take all precautions before we start playing, there are a lot of things that have to be taken into account, but I would love to finish the season,” concluded Courtois.
