Borussia Dortmund has managed to retain one of Germany’s top talents U17 player Nnamdi Collins for a long-term partnership.
Young coordinator Lars Ricken commented on the contract extension: “We are very happy that with Nnamdi we are able to retain an outstanding talent of young German football to BVB in the long term.”
Sport Director Michael Zorc also added: “We want to introduce Nnamdi to the professional sector step by step and give him time to develop.”
Nnamdi Collins is himself enthusiastic about the prospects that are open to him in Dortmund: “I have been playing since 12 years old.
“My goal is to become a professional at BVB and I am really grateful that all my trainers, my family and my advisors have supported me so much and I am very much looking forward to the coming years at BVB.”
He was a member of the BVB and owes a lot to the club. The 16-year-old defender has been wearing black and yellow since 2016 and has already been deployed in the U17 Bundesliga this season.
From next season, Collins, who could play another year in the U17, is expected to play in the U19 Bundesliga, reports.
