Otta Walin is looking at strengthen is world title shot hopes and is interested in Dillian Whyte’s plan to fight on US soil. Whyte dismantled Alexandr Povetkin in four rounds last Saturday and now is a real threat to Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, who have signed contracts to an undisputed fight. Promoter Eddie Hearn has suggested Whyte go to the states to keep himself busy until the time is right and Wallin has now offered to welcome him.
“That could be an interesting encounter,” Wallin’s promoter Dmitriy Salita said. “Otto is staying active and moving towards a world heavyweight title. If Dillian Whyte is in the way we will definitely explore that possibility.”
“Otto has proved his world-class abilities in his fight versus Fury, and in the near future can be ready for Joshua and Whyte,” he added.
With all the world titles to be tied down to two fights between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, Dillian Whyte has turned his focus to Deontay Wilder. Whyte was previously a mandatory challenger to Wilder but a championship fight never materialized.
