Boxing News: Oleksandr Usyk’s promoter has claimed that he is planning a bout with Tyson Fury after facing Anthony Joshua again.

A fortnight after Usyk won the IBF, WBA, and WBO belts from Anthony Joshua, Fury’s spectacular win against Deontay Wilder in their trilogy bout extended his WBC championship reign.

The new undisputed heavyweight title fight would be between Fury and Usyk, both of whom are undefeated.

“After Usyk defeats AJ in the rematch,” his promoter Alexander Krassyuk told.

Joshua has activated a rematch clause and will face Usyk again in early-2022.

“I watched the fight, analysed my preparations, and found my errors,” Joshua added. “I’ve learned my lesson,” he says.

Usyk has already set his sights on a battle with Fury, which would definitively determine the heavyweight division’s No. 1.

When asked if Usyk was pleased by Fury’s demolition of Wilder, Usyk’s promoter Krassyuk responded: “He certainly was. And he was impressed by how the boxers fought without displaying any boxing abilities. They were attempting to [inadvertently harm] each other.”

Dillian Whyte, who will become the WBC mandatory challenger if he defeats Otto Wallin on October 30, has also targeted Fury.

Wallin, a Swedish southpaw, had previously given Fury a tough fight by inflicting a big cut.

“Hopefully now the WBC forces my position and Fury has no option,” Whyte told Sky Sports of his pursuit of a maiden world title fight.

“It’s a tremendous British battle, a major battle for Britain.”

“Fury is a volatile man who may declare, ‘I am done!'”

“I’m hoping we can get into a fight when I get past Wallin.”

“However, Fury is a difficult man to plan for.

“I haven’t heard anything from him about getting into a fight.”

Carl Froch had speculated that Fury may put up his gloves after completing his historic trilogy with Wilder.

“There’s nothing else he can do,” Froch added.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if he stepped down. I wouldn’t be surprised if Fury says, ‘I have done my bit and now I am through,’ depending on how much he loves the sport and how much he wants to get in there and do it all again.”
