Boxing News: When BOXXER hosts an event at Coventry Skydome on Saturday, June 25, a new generation of future British boxing stars and leading boxers from the Midlands will be highlighted live on Sky Sports.

Adam ‘The Assassin’ Azim (4-0, 3 KOs), dubbed “the best natural talent I’ve ever worked with” by trainer Shane McGuigan, will compete in a World Youth Championship contest.

Before turning professional in 2020, Azim won ten national titles as an amateur and was ranked No. 1 in the world at welterweight. Since then, he has continued to collect accolades and shown every sign of living up to the hype dubbed him “the new Amir Khan.”

Olympic bronze medalist Karriss Artingstall, who will make her professional debut after a stellar amateur career, will also be in Coventry.

The Coventry programme will also include BOXXER Series tournament winners Cori Gibbs (16-0, 3 KOs) and Dylan Cheema (5-0, 1 KO).

In November, Gibbs, an undefeated Birmingham boxer who won the eight-man BOXXER Series Liverpool: super-lightweights event, will face Spanish lightweight champion Carlos ‘Raton’ Perez (17-6-2, 2 KOs).

Cheema is making a speedy comeback to the ring for the first bout of his newly-signed, multi-fight promotional agreement with BOXXER. He won last month’s BOXXER Series: Coventry tournament in an attractive way despite entering as an unknown underdog.

Birmingham’s Sam Eggington (31-7, 18 KOs), a two-time ‘Fight of the Year’ winner and firm crowd favourite because of his all-action style, takes on undefeated Pole Przemyslaw Zysk for the IBO super-welterweight title (18-0, 6 KOs).

The rematch for the English middleweight title between River Wilson Bent (12-0-1, 5 KOs) and Tyler Denny (13-2-3) will also take place on the bill after their controversial and explosive first bout finished in a technical draw after a clash of heads.

On the bill, undefeated 6ft 3in middleweight Shakiel Thompson (7-0, 5 KOs), as well as hard-hitting Birmingham talent Kaiser Benjamin (15-1-1, 6 KOs) and undefeated Welshman Rhys Edwards, will return to action (12-0-0, 4 KOs).
