Boxing News: “At the very least, get off the plane the next time you come to conquer America!” As the British heavyweight ends interest in a fight in the United States, ‘Prince’ Charles Martin wonders why Dillian Whyte hasn’t settled their tense animosity.
Dillian Whyte has been accused of “going back home” by ‘Prince’ Charles Martin, who has questioned whether the British heavyweight wants to end their bitter dispute.
Whyte was scheduled to fight a rival contender in America this summer, but the Brixton man is now ready to renew his quest for a world title chance with a battle in the United Kingdom.
Last month, Martin made a ferocious challenge, prompting a caustic response from Whyte, and the former IBF champion feels that a knockout victory would have put an end to their feud.
“Before he even touches foot in America, Dillian Whyte is rushing back to the UK,” Martin told Sky Sports.
“Dillian turned the plane around and flew home after learning that I was going to give him a beautiful KO loss to welcome him to America. That is the reality. Dillian hasn’t had anything but concussions in America.
“I don’t blame him for fleeing to safety. For him, everything makes sense. He was well aware of what was in store for him.
“Dillian made the proper decision, considering he’d been looking shaky in his last two of battles.” I don’t believe his chin is still there. He’s well aware of the situation, therefore it’s a good thing he purchased a round-trip ticket.
“That is the shortest voyage across America in history.” Eddie Hearn claims one minute, “Dillian is going to conquer America,” and the next minute, he’s organising a fight at home.
“Eddie is the expert. He reasoned, “Why should I have my second-best heavyweight knocked out in America by Charles?” Eddie, I’m sure, doesn’t think much of him either.
“At the very least, get off the plane the next time you come to conquer America!”
