Boxing News: Todd DuBoef, president of Top Rank, named his top three talents to watch in 2022, saying: “They are charismatic, have a strong personality, and are young. They will be world-class boxers who will draw large crowds.”

Jared Anderson

“Jared is only 22 years old. He’s a heavyweight who hasn’t had a particularly successful amateur career, but we’ve seen that he’s athletic,” DuBoef said.

Anderson has previously been predicted to win by Tyson Fury.

“Tyson said he did an interview and told everyone I’m going to be the man,” Anderson explained.

“‘I truly feel that you are going to take my place,’ he added. That’s something he’s told me a few times.”

“Tyson claimed the next heavyweight champion after him is Jared Anderson,” said Bob Arum of Top Rank, who promotes both guys.

“They can pay heed or they will be run over,” Anderson has warned his opponents.

“Pay attention to what he says.”

During preparations for his bout with Deontay Wilder, the young heavyweight was lured into Fury’s camp as a sparring partner and instantly impressed.

He has won all one of his 11 professional fights, knocking out every single one of his opponents.

He bludgeoned Oleksandr Teslenko in two rounds most recently.

Keyshawn Davis

“Keyshawn wants to follow in the footsteps of Vasiliy Lomachenko and go aggressively,” DuBoef stated.

That’s a scary prospect since Lomachenko, possibly the best amateur boxer of all time won a world title in only his second professional fight, which is an incredible feat.

Davis, who is 22 years old, won a silver medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

“My matchmakers tell me he has a little ‘Sugar’ Ray Leonard in him,” DuBoef added. “They go all the way back to Leonard in 1976!”

“They say he reminds them of Leonard.”

Xander Zayas

DuBoef remarked, “He is incredibly well looking, he will have appeal, and he has the capability.” “At 19, he’s still a baby.”

As an amateur, the Puerto Rican welterweight dominated, capturing 11 national titles in the United States.

Zayas comes from a boxing-crazed country that brought us Miguel Cotto, Felix Trinidad, and Hector Camacho, so he already has a large fan base.

He has won seven of his first ten professional fights by knockout.

Anderson, Davis, and Zayas were all on the same Madison Square Garden event, according to DuBoef.

“We’ll look back one day and say, ‘I can’t believe they all happened on the same night.'”
