Boxing News: On Friday night in Austria, Filip Hrgovic demolished Marko Radonjic, knocking him out five times in the first three rounds.

The emerging heavyweight danger had been in talks to fight Michael Hunter in an IBF eliminator to determine a mandatory challenger to Anthony Joshua’s belt but was instead obliged to notch up another quick knockout.

Early in the second round, Hrgovic’s right hand sent Radonjic on the canvas.

Than the 2016 Olympic bronze medalist unleashed a barrage of shots that knocked his opponent out.

Radonjic boldly stood up but was quickly flattened by Hrgovic’s precise right hand.

Radonjic was permitted to continue, but Hrgovic, who was in cruise control, hit him with a body shot, knocking him down for the fourth time in a single round.

Hrgovic unleashed a right hand and a body shot combo in the third round, knocking Radonjic out for the fifth time.

Radonjic was remarkably willing to go on, and he made it through the third round, but when he returned for the fourth, the referee refused to let him continue.

Hrgovic of Croatia is undefeated in 13 fights, with 11 KOs, and is the IBF’s No. 3 contender.
