Boxing News: Following a 10th-round knockout victory over Alejandra Ayala, Hannah Rankin successfully defended her WBA and IBO super-welterweight titles.
Rankin improved throughout the fight, finally connecting in the fourth round to force the stoppage.
The Scot’s triumph raises the possibility of her facing Natasha Jonas in the ring.
Before Rankin’s battle, Jonas told Sky Sports that she would be paying close attention, and Rankin had previously stated that she had her eyes on a unification bout.
Now now @Dennis_Hobson For the record, I want the fight. Let's make it happen. Congratulations @Team_Rankin 🥳 You've had ur home coming defence, I'll happily unify in mine @MandSBankArena 👊🏽🥊

“We’re waiting to see how her fight turns out,” Jonas stated. “We both want the ranking fight, and we both believe we can win it, so it’s exciting times.”
“The whole point of moving up the weight divisions was to give me options and I do believe that I’ve got that now.”
