Boxing News: According to promoter Ben-Shalom, Adam Azim might become a “superstar” for British boxing after displaying “unique” talent in a stunning knockout win at Wembley.

Azim, 19, showed off his blinding hand speed in a second-round stoppage of Stu Greener, which he celebrated with a daring backflip at The SSE Arena, Wembley on Saturday night.

Azim has just had two professional fights, but BOXXER promoter Shalom believes he will become one of Britain’s most successful fighters.

“We’ve been discussing Adam for a long time,” Shalom told Sky Sports. “It just goes to show what this kid is made of.”

“I believe we have a special star on our hands. I believe this was the beginning of something.

“This will be a night that people will look back on and say, ‘I was there.’

“Adam Azim is going to be a star, and we’re here to see it.”

Shane McGuigan trains Adam Azim and his older brother Hassan, who delivered a stunning one-punch knockout on the same card in London.

McGuigan is adamant that Adam will thrive at the top level, and has previously stated that the teen protégé may outperform David Haye and George Groves.

McGuigan told Sky Sports about his savage victory over Stu Greener: “It was incredible. On his debut, he didn’t shine to his full potential. It slipped beneath the radar. It’s almost as though he’s making his official debut.

“He’s appeared, he’s entertained, he’s delivered a knockout victory, and I feel this kid is going to be a wonderful, special star.

“I believe he will quickly get to the top. I believe he will win world titles and make a significant contribution to British boxing. Everyone must rally behind him.”

Adam Azim has added showmanship to his razor-sharp abilities, laying the groundwork for a world title run.

“I’d like to thank Shane McGuigan, the main man, for genuinely making me a better fighter now,” he told Sky Sports.

“I was talking to my father.” ‘You should do a backflip and excite the people,’ he says to me.

“The next day, I went to gymnastics class and learned how to do a backflip in one day.”

“We’re all going on this adventure together to win the world crown.”

“I’m going to become a world champion with Shane’s guidance.”
