Boxing News: “Of sure, a win will place him on the radar of prospective title challengers,” says co-manager Mike Borao. Frank Sanchez can get closer to challenging the winner of Fury vs Wilder 3 if he defeats Efe Ajagba this Saturday.

According to co-manager Mike Borao, Frank Sanchez can steal the spotlight’ from Tyson Fury this weekend as the Cuban heavyweight seeks a career-best win.

On the undercard of Fury’s third WBC title bout against Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas, the unbeaten 29-year-old collides with rival contender Efe Ajagba.

Sanchez practises alongside Mexican superstar Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and has pledged to replicate his success.

“Frank can surely take the spotlight with an explosive win over Efe Ajagba,” stated Mike Borao, Sanchez’s co-manager alongside Lupe Valencia.

“We made this fight because Frank is far faster and technically superior.”

“As the boxing world witnessed, Usyk’s talent and speed triumphed over Joshua’s strength and power.” Joshua didn’t like Usyk’s style.

“Frank, on the other hand, is a horrible style for Ajagba.” That being said, there is always danger versus a strong puncher like Ajagba, but Frank is aiming for Canelo-level brilliance.

“In order to be great, you must engage in difficult battles like these.” However, I expect Frank to minimise the threat and neutralise Ajagba’s potency in the same way that Usyk did with Joshua.”

Sanchez is ranked 11th in the WBC, while Ajagba is ranked 8th, and the winner might be well-positioned to confront the victor of Fury-Wilder 3 in the near future.

Borao, on the other hand, told Sky Sports: “It would be a huge error to overlook Ajagba.”

“Frank’s training camp for this bout was rigorous, so he is well prepared and excited for the battle.”

“In terms of the future, a win will, of course, place him on the shortlist of possible title candidates.”
