Boxing Fight: Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder weighed in at their career-heaviest weights for their third WBC heavyweight title bout this weekend in Las Vegas.

WBC champion Fury weighed in at 19st 11lbs (277lbs), four pounds heavier than his rematch triumph last February, while Wilder weighed in at 17st (238lbs), seven pounds heavier than his seventh-round stoppage loss.

The fierce rivals have been kept apart all week and were denied a rematch, Although Fury did issue a harsh pre-fight warning to the Americans ahead of their trilogy confrontation.

When asked about the additional weight, Fury stated, “It means absolute obliteration of a dosser.”

“Complete annihilation.” That’s exactly what it means to me.”

Wilder believed that the added weight would help him deal with the physical challenge provided by Fury’s larger stature.

“The weight just piled on,” Wilder explained.

“I bench press a little more than 350 pounds, so whatever his weight is, I can lay on my back and hoist him.”

“It won’t be any of that rushing me and putting all his weight on me and other such things.” But, most importantly, we want to have a good time.”

Wilder has had a lengthy animosity with the British star, but he stated that he needed to regain his composure when the first bell rang at the T-Mobile Arena.

“Calmness is the key to weathering the storm,” Wilder added.

“I know that when I’m not peaceful, my mind becomes cloudy, and when your mind becomes cloudy, you might make stupid decisions.”

“However, when you’re calm, you can withstand the storm.”

When you’re calm, you’re able to perceive certain things and make good decisions. I want to remain calm in this fight so that I can make the best decision possible and show the people what I’m all about.

“We renewed and redefined ourselves.” The time has come for redemption, and I can’t wait to show the world what I’m all about.

“I’m going to reintroduce myself to the world as Deontay Wilder.”
