Boxing Fight: ‘Anthony Joshua’s defeat has thrown a wrench in the works. Top Rank head Todd duBoef believes Tyson Fury ‘had best be careful’ against Deontay Wilder in their third WBC title bout this weekend.
Tyson Fury’s promoter, Top Rank’s Todd duBoef, has reminded him of Deontay Wilder’s brutal power.
In a trilogy battle between two fierce heavyweight rivals, Fury will defend his WBC belt against Wilder this Saturday in Las Vegas.
Fury ended Wilder’s title reign with a sensational stoppage in their second fight, after their first ended in a controversial draw, and has now been warned to be cautious in their third battle.
Joshua lost his IBF, WBA, and WBO heavyweight championships to Oleksandr Usyk, whose spectacular performance has changed the complexion of the division ahead of Fury’s return.
Earlier this year, Joshua and Fury were in talks about an undisputed title fight, but nothing came of it.
DuBoef stated: “When Fury vs. Wilder II ended, I looked to my wife and said, ‘This may have been the most magnificent event I have ever put on in my 20 years.’

“It had excitement, it had competitiveness between enthusiastic fans in the United States and the United Kingdom, it had a clear ending, and it was a show.
“I’ve been in big battles that didn’t have a clear winner, like Oscar De La Hoya vs. Felix Trinidad.”
“Then Covid-19 came along, and I worried, ‘Will I ever get to recreate that incredible time again?'”
