Boxing Fight: Will Naoya Inoue face John Riel Casimero in a 2022 unification bout?

On Tuesday in Japan, Naoya Inoue stopped Aran Dipaen in eight powerful rounds, reaffirming his standing as one of boxing’s fiercest hitters.

The IBF and WBA bantamweight titles were retained by the undefeated ‘Monster,’ who improved his record to 22-0 with 19 knockouts.

The Japanese star, who is promoted by Top Rank in the United States, is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world.

Throughout the battle, he had great control over his Thai opponent Dipaen, inflicting a bloodied nose and wobbling him on multiple times.

In the ninth, Inoue knocked Dipaen down for the first time.

Dipaen fought back fiercely, but another Inoue assault caused the referee to step in.

Inoue can anticipate possibly massive fights in 2022.

The WBO champion, John Riel Casimero, was set to fight Inoue last year before the epidemic disrupted those arrangements.

Their collision course is about to become a reality next year.

Despite being 39 years old, Nonito Donaire, who gave Inoue his toughest battle, is the WBC champion.
