Boxing Fight: According to promoter Ben-Shalom, Frazer Clarke will rise “as swiftly as Joe Joyce” to reach the world heavyweight title level within years.
The 2020 Olympic bronze medalist in super-heavyweight has inked pro contracts with BOXXER and Sky Sports Boxing, and the 30-year-old is looking to make an immediate impression on his new opponents.
“Joe Joyce is the most straightforward to compare. He’s an obvious parallel “Shalom, the promoter of BOXXER, remarked
“Frazer will have to move at the same pace as Joe, who is now 35 and in contention for the world title.
“If Frazer hasn’t fought for a world title by the time he’s 35, we’ll be very unhappy.
“In the coming years, he’ll have to move swiftly while yet being cautious.”
Joyce is an unbeaten pro who is closing in on his first world championship shot after winning silver at the 2016 Olympics.
Shalom feels Clarke can follow Joyce’s rapid pace to the top of the division.
“With him, we’ll take calculated chances,” he stated.
“However, Frazer is a top-notch operator. If you aren’t world-class, you won’t be as successful as Frazer in the Team GB setup.
“We believe Frazer will have no trouble dealing with most heavyweights.” We are unconcerned.
“We want to give him every chance we can.”
“We intend to keep him busy so that he can learn his craft.” We believe he will be a great fit for the professional game because of his strength and versatility.”
Clarke is expected to make his professional debut in the near future.
“Frazer can appeal to the broadest sports audience possible,” Shalom remarked.
“He’ll start with six-rounders because he wants to get started as soon as possible.
“We’ll find out more about Frazer.
“His trainer Angel Fernandez is teaching him a lot of new stuff.”
