Frank Bruno: “Fury will be roughly five stone heavier than Wilder, which will make a major difference if he boxes smart and wears him down. But watch out for Wilder’s windmill punch.”
Frank Bruno has supported Tyson Fury to beat Deontay Wilder in their third world heavyweight title fight in Las Vegas.
WBC champion Fury is preparing for this weekend’s trilogy clash with his American opponent, whom he defeated in February 2020 after their first fight ended in a draw.
Former world heavyweight champion Bruno believes his fellow Briton will win if he boxes well against the hard-hitting Wilder.
“I don’t think Tyson will just beat him again; he’s a far better boxer than Wilder and he’ll school him,” Bruno said.
“Fury will be roughly five stone heavier than Wilder, which will make a major difference if he boxes smart and wears him down.”
“However, you must be aware of Wilder’s windmill punch.” He only has a powerful punch and nothing else, but you have to give him a puncher’s chance.
“As long as Tyson Fury stays away from this guy… This guy is a vicious hard puncher. Don’t be a moron. This guy is all power and nothing else.
“I believe Tyson has things under control.” I certainly hope so. Tyson Fury will most likely knock him out.”
Last year, it was reported that the ever-popular Bruno was planning a return to the ring.
“That will never leave you,” he said. Any fighter will feel the desire to return. You’ll never be able to get away from that. You believe that as an athlete, you can take on the army, but you should know better.
“I’m not going to [fight again].” I’ll be 60 next month. “I’m too old to box,” he maintained, before smiling and saying, “But if the money was right…”
