Boxing Fight: The WBC world heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, has identified Joe Joyce as the front-runner in the division and stated that the Londoner merits a shot at the crown.
On Saturday, Joyce repeatedly attacked former world champion Joseph Parker before finishing him off with a devastating left hook in the eleventh round.
With that victory, Joyce was given the WBO interim championship and elevated to the top of his division. The undisputed champion Tyson Fury has not only acknowledged this but also deemed Joyce to be his strongest opponent.
“I’ve had a great day watching boxing, watching all the big matches, studying all the heavyweights, and I’ve had to say that big Joe Joyce is the second best heavyweight in the world, behind myself. Who knows whether he could beat me on his day, given the chance?” Fury stated.
“I believe we’ll have to learn the truth soon,” she said.
The Morecambe resident and Anthony Joshua had discussed boxing on December 3. Even while Fury has made it plain that he is tired of those conversations, has also entered the picture as a prospective foe.
Fury thinks his strongest opponent will ultimately be the impressive Joyce.
Big Joe Joyce, according to Fury, is the second-ranked heavyweight in the world. Fury continued, “I just looked at these possibilities that are needed for the world title, Zhilei Zhang and Filip Hrgovic and everyone else.”
Fury replied that he should first face Oleksandr Usyk, stating: “Big Joe, it’s not tour time yet. I have to defeat the middleweight without a fight first! You must also prepare yourself for the big time!”
