New Orleans Pelicans 115 – 117 Washington Wizards (OT)
Russell Westbrook made two clutch free throws with a second on the clock to finish with 36 points to help the Washington Wizards beat New Orleans Pelicans in OT. Westbrook starred in overtime scoring 10 out of the 12 points for the Wizards. he finished with 15 rebounds and an assist short of his seventh consecutive triple-double.
The score was tied when Raul Neto stole the ball from the Pelicans’ Zion Williamson with 15.5 seconds left in overtime, leading to Williamson’s foul on Westbrook. New Orleans’ challenge to the call was unsuccessful and Williamson fouled out on the play as the Washington Wizards beat New Orleans Pelicans.
Oklahoma City Thunder 104 – 110 Detroit Pistons
Detroit Pistons handed the Oklahoma City Thunder their ninth consecutive loss. Josh Jackson top-scored with 29 points while Saddiq Bey and Frank Jackson scored 18 points each. Isiah Stewart scored 15 points to accompany 21 rebounds, a Detroit rookie record. Killian Hayes also enjoyed a memorable game contributing nine points, seven assists, five steals and four rebounds.
The Pistons sat many of their regulars, including top scorer Jerami Grant, who scored 28 points in a loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday. Center Mason Plumlee and guards Wayne Ellington, Cory Joseph, Rodney McGruder, Hamidou Diallo and Dennis Smith Jr. also missed the game due to either rest or injury.
Orlando Magic 102 – 113 Toronto Raptors
Paul Watson scored a career-best 30 points, 20 of which came in the third quarter of his first start. Watson enjoyed 8 of 11 shooting from beyond the arc to lead the Toronto Raptors to their eighth consecutive victory over the Orlando Magic.
Raptors have now won two in a row with Yuta Watanabe also scoring a career-best 21 points. Stanley Johnson added 13 points, Chris Boucher scored 11 and Freddie Gillespie had 10. The Orlando Magic are in a middle of a bad losing streak having lost eight of their last nine games.
