Oklahoma City Thunder 98 – 126 Sacramento Kings
Maurice Harkless and Terrence Davis scored 18 points each as the Sacramento Kings beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 126-98. It was the Kings’ fifth win in six games as they kept their playoff hopes alive. They are currently two and a half games behind the San Antonio Spurs who are currently in 10th place in the Western Conference with four games left. The Spurs have five games to play and the tiebreaker as well.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have now lost seven games on the spin and suffered their 24th loss in the last 26 games against Sacramento Kings. The Kings had as many as seven players scoring double digits including 15 from Richaun Holmes.
Minnesota Timberwolves 128 – 96 Orlando Magic
Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell scored 27 points each as the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Orlando Magic 128-96. The Timberwolves improved to 7-5 over the last twelve games having lost the last three on the spin. Towns also had nine rebounds to go with his four assists as the Timberwolves swamped the Magic early in the first half. Russell also contributed to the Timberwolves’ victory with eight assists and six rebounds.
They led the Magic by 30 points at halftime. They did not let down their momentum in the third quarter by extending their lead to 43 points at one stage. Dwayne Bacon provided some highlights for Orlando with 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting, while R.J. Hampton scored 19 points off the bench.
The Wolves didn’t need a lot of scoring from rookie Anthony Edwards, but he recorded another double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds to go along with five assists. Ricky Rubio added 18 points for the Wolves.
