Just minutes before the window closed, Houston Rockets traded Victor Oladipo to the Miami Heat. In return, the Rockets acquired the services of Avery Bradley and Kelly Olynyk as well as a draft pick swap. Oladipo has managed just 20 games for the Rockets, before being traded in a mega-deal that took James Harden to the New York Nets in January.
Oladipo was averaging 21.2 points per game to go with 5.0 assists and 4.8 rebounds with Houston. He’s a career 17.6 points per game scorer with the Orlando Magic, Oklahoma City Thunder, Indiana Pacers and Rockets. Oladipo had suffered a quad injury that kept him out of the 2018-19 season and just managed to play 19 games in the 2019-20 season.
Bradley who signed with the Heat on a one year deal managed to start just 10 games, after suffering a host of injuries as well as adhering to COVID protocols. He is a two time NBA All-Defensive Team selection and won an NBA championship last season with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Olynyk spent the last three seasons with Miami after spending four years in Boston. Olynyk averaged 10.0 points and 5.2 rebounds in 265 games with the Heat and is set to become a free agent after the season.
