This was yet another statement towards a possible MVP candidacy. Jokic finished with 30 points including 14 rebounds and 7 assists. Michael Porter Jr. helped the Nuggets’ cause with 25 points including seven rebounds and five assists.

The victory took the Nuggets (43-21) past the Clippers (43-22). The win also earned them a crucial tie-breaking lead over their rivals. Nikola Jokic has helped the Denver Nuggets to five wins in a row. This is the current active streak in the NBA right now. Despite losing their star Jamal Murray, they have won nine of their last 10 games.

Washington Wizards 124-125 Dallas Mavericks

Luka Doncic scored his first triple-double since March 15 to help the Dallas Mavericks to a 125-124 victory against the Washington Wizards. Dorian Finney-Smith canned the deciding 3-pointer with 9.3 seconds left to play.

Bradley Beal put the visitors ahead with 26.1 seconds on the clock after sinking two free throws. Doncic then found Dorian Finney-Smith wide open who drained the three-pointer. Beal then missed a three-pointer with 2.6 seconds on the clock. Doncic ended the game with 31 points including 20 assists and 12 rebounds.

Toronto Raptors 102-106 Utah Jazz

The short-handed Utah Jazz regained the top spot with a 106-102 victory over the Toronto Raptors. Bojan Bogdanovic top-scored for the Jazz with 34 points while Rudy Gobert ended the game with a double-double to his name.

Gobert snagged 16 rebounds and scored 13 points, including a driving layup followed by a tip-in with 24.3 seconds remaining that helped the Jazz (46-18) win again without injured All-Star guards Donovan Mitchell (ankle) and Mike Conley (hamstring).
