Augsburg revealed that coach Heiko Herrlich will not be present when they face Saturday’s Wolfsburg, after he was discovered breaking the restrictions on coronavirus.
He will now have to stay away from his team and coaching staff before two negative Covid-19 test results are registered, as per instructions for all top flight teams in Germany. This means he will not be present when the competition initially restarts.
It’s been confirmed that Herrlich left the team hotel on Thursday to buy things like toothpaste and skin cream. This is not allowed owing to the regulations in effect ahead of the resumption of the Bundesliga behind closed doors.
Herrlich admitted to leaving the hotel, which means he will be barred from attending the first few matches of the resumed season.
