Thiago Silva is leaving PSG at the end of the season, a club he has been in since 2012. The 2019-20 French champions have decided not to renew their contract with the Brazilian stopper, who will celebrate his 36th birthday in September.

PSG has already started its search for his successor, and Catalan Sport reveals that the choice fell on Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti. Umtiti debuted for France 2016., and he became world champion 2018.  at the World Cup in Russia.

PSG will reportedly offer EUR 30 million to the 26-year-old footballer, five more than Barcelona paid to Lyon four years ago. Before the coronavirus pandemic, the Catalans demanded around € 50 million for it, with Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Napoli and Inter showing interest in PSG.

The French stopper is one of those players that Barcelona is ready to sell because of the economic crisis. Finally, it could be a mutual decision, as Silva would likely not mind returning to his homeland either.
