Paris Saint-Germain centre-forward striker Edinson Cavani has attracted the interest of Manchester United among many others, according to L’Equipe.

The centre-forward contract with Paris Saint-Germain will expire at the end of June and is generally expected to pursue fresh pastures in the run-up to the 2020-21 campaign. Cavani has only scored four Ligue 1 goals this season, but has scored 138 times in France’s top flight since arriving from Napoli in Paris in the summer of 2013.

Atletico Madrid continues to be linked to Uruguay International, the PSG’s all-time leading goal scorer with 200, including seven in the 2019-20 season. Now, Manchester United were said to have been ‘serious candidates’ to sign Cavani this summer.

According to the report by L’Equipe, United is still squarely in the 33-year-old race as head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is trying to improve his chances in the final third of the table. The study claims that the Red Devils have the ‘financial means’ to be successful on the market this summer given the coronavirus epidemic, which has caused a host of problems.
