Mourinho Cannot Buy Players This Summer as Tottenham Hotspur Low on Money

Tottenham Hotspur is said to have had to sell before they can buy in this summer’s transfer window and is unlikely to be a major transfer kitty until the 2020-21 campaign.

A recent report suggested that the capital side could hand over coach Jose Mourinho as much as £135 m to rebuild the squad during this summer’s transfer window.

Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser is said to have been listed as a potential arrival, and Scotland’s international is said to have been open to the possibility of transferring to Spurs on a free transfer.

However, according to Football Insider, Tottenham is not expected to have a lot of money to invest ahead of next season, as the club is likely to have to sell players before they can buy. Why?

Well, the Spurs are still making payments for their new stadium. This ensures that the financial effect of the coronavirus outbreak is likely to trigger a range of problems for the club.

Both Harry Kane and Tanguy Ndombele have been linked to moves away from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in recent weeks, but it seems unlikely that the club will allow either player’s exits.
