Manchester United Calls in Players for Training under Project Restart

Manchester United has requested players who stayed overseas during the coronavirus epidemic to return to the UK, states Sky Sports.

United have yet to fix a date when Solskjaer’s side work at their Carrington base will restart actual practice.

The change comes as Premier League teams check at alternatives for returning to training grounds later this month under the Restart Project plan. This has contributed to questions being raised by four Premier League club doctors.

Bruno Fernandes, Fred, Victor Lindelof and Romero were among the players permitted to leave England following discussion with the club in March.

The Premier League is planning to restart the new initiative in June, likely in neutral locations behind closed doors, but the government also needs to accept the plans.

Several Premier League teams returned last month to socially distant preparation and many waiting for the next review of the government’s lockout restriction, expected on May 10.

United are fifth on the table in the Premier League, three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, with nine games left.
