Barcelona forward Luis Suarez scored his 195th La Blaugrana strike against Espanyol to overtake Barcelona’s hero Laszlo Kubala as the third highest goal scorer.
After scoring the winner in their 1-0 victory over Francisco Rufete’s side, the Uruguayan finished third on the club’s all-time goalscorer chart.
Since having knee surgery back in January, the veteran striker had looked likely to miss the rest of the season, but the extension of the competition, owing to coronavirus, has allowed him to return to play.
Suarez joined the Liverpool Catalan giants in 2014 and in his tenure at the Camp Nou the 33-year-old has been a prolific goal scoring threat.
He has managed over 20 goals in each of the last four seasons in La Liga, with his latest strike in 2019-20 bringing him up to 14 goals in league action.
