It is confirmed that Inter Milan has finally reached an agreement with Manchester United on Alexis Sanchez’s permanent departure.
Sporting director Giuseppe Marotta has been working for a number of weeks to reach an agreement with United and terms have now been agreed according to Corriere della Sera.
The transfer will bring the six-year stint of Sanchez in English football to an end, having failed to follow up his successful spell with Arsenal over a season-and-a-half at United before being loaned out to Inter.
Hitherto, the Red Devils are believed to have paid most of the £50,000-a-week wages of the 31-year-old during his San Siro season.
The Chile International spent 2019-20 on loan with Inter and impressed a combined 10 goals in 12 matches following lockdown, scoring and assisting.
Inter is now set to turn over £13.5 m to Sanchez, with an announcement scheduled to be made after the last-16 tie with Getafe in the Europa League Wednesday.
