Ibrahimovic Faces the Bench while His Injury Heals, with His Future Career Still Secure

Zlatan Ibrahimovic faces a period on the sidelines due to an injury. But Milan has reported that the Swedish player’s injury is not so severe as to end his career altogether.

Actual fears about his long-term fitness suggested that he might have to consider hanging his boots from the great range frontman.

During a training session with the Rossoneri on Monday, the 38-year-old suffered an untimely knock. Ibrahimovic had been laid low by a calf injury.

Nonetheless, Milan is confident that there were no muscles snapped: “Milan reports that Zlatan Ibrahimovic confirmed injury to the soleus muscle of his right calf in yesterday’s training. The tendon in Achilles is fully intact.

In a statement posted on their official club website, the Serie A giants added: “Control and examination will be conducted in 10 days.”

However, there were also reports that the Achilles injury pushed the modern-day star onto the treatment table. Any such injury to the tendons in that region will make it impossible for the professional athlete to return to football.

In any case, although Milan will continue to track the condition of Ibrahimovic, a potential recovery is not placed on a time scale.

So, even if professional football returns in Italy, the former Juventus and Manchester United forward is unlikely to restart.
