Higuain and Other Juventus Players Travel Back to Turin to Resume Training

Gonzalo Higuain is scheduled to travel out of Argentina today. He is late in landing back at Turin as compared to his teammate as he was given special permission to delay his return.

He was spending the quarantine in Argentine for personal reasons, as his mother has cancer.

Most Bianconeri will be able to resume group training from Monday, including Daniele Rugani and Paulo Dybala, who were tested positive in March.

However, the players returning from abroad to Turin will have a quarantine duration of 15 days, followed by a double swab check and a blood test to ensure that they are safe from COVID-19.

La Gazzetta dello Sport points out that Sami Khedira and Blaise Matuidi returned to Italy on 6 May, so they will be able to train later next week, while the Brazilians Danilo, Alex Sandro and Douglas Costa have another week to go.

Further, Cristiano Ronaldo landed back from Portugal on 4 May, so he will be allowed to train from Monday to Tuesday. He will be followed quickly by Wojciech Szczesny and Matthijs de Ligt.

On the other hand, Adrien Rabiot arrived from France yesterday afternoon to begin his quarantine, while Higuain is expected to return tomorrow morning after a night flight from Buenos Aires.

Higuain and Rabiot will not be able to practice with their teammates or leave their homes until at least May 29-31.

His return nevertheless suggests that the entire Juventus team will be training together by the beginning of June at least.
