Haaland Had to Quit the Der Klassiker Early Due to Knee Injury

Erling Haaland was pulled off with pain during the second half of Der Klassiker, between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Stadium.

Head coach Lucien Favre revealed the Norway star had suffered a knee injury after the match.

Favre said in a post-match news conference: “I don’t feel like he’s going to be away for a long time. He’s got a knee problem. We don’t know precisely what it is right now.”

Thus, he was optimistic that Haaland wouldn’t miss much.

With 10 goals in only 12 league appearances after the Red Bull Salzburg move was made in January, the productivity of the youngster in front of the net was crucial to keep BVB’s crown challenge alive.

Moreover, Borussia Dortmund’s championship hopes faced another hit, as they lost The Klassiker against Bayern Munich.
