Spanish police have arrested in Madrid former Colombian national football team player Edwin Congo for drug trafficking.
Congo, formerly a striker for Real Madrid, has represented Real Madrid Legends in charity matches in recent years.
In addition to the former Real Madrid member, nine other people were arrested in a police operation, and 43-year-old Congo was released after questioning, Marca writes.
The Colombian came to Real in 1999 from the Colombian club Once Caldas, for five million euros, which was then the largest transfer in the history of Colombian football.
After failing to impose himself at Real Madrid, he was loaned to Real Valladolid, where he played 14 times and scored one goal. Real then loaned him to Vitoria Guimaraes and then sold him to Levante where he stayed for four years.
Sporting Gijon and Recreativo de Huelva were the last elite clubs he played for before retiring in 2009.
