“Now I’m in Spain, I want the best players to be there. I want Messi to move on, Cristiano not to quit and Neymar to return. Seeing such stars in our league makes us stronger,” Sevilla’s manager Unai Emery said to Eurosport.
With Barca eager to send Neymar back to Camp Nou, Emery recently shared the belief that Neymar should return to La Liga. He added that it would have been ideal if Cristiano Ronaldo had not left Spain either.
After a poor start to the 2019-20 season, Emery was sacked by the Gunners. The long-time Arsenal manager is now back in his hometown, having previously achieved success with Sevilla.
Emery originally won three Europa League championships with the Andalusians before transferring to Paris Saint-Germain in 2016, with the 48-year-old having earned seven trophies in the French capital during a two-season period.
Having worked in Paris with Neymar, Emery has confirmed that the Brazilian has to move to Spain, where he enjoyed three seasons in Barcelona alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. Neymar’s attitude and commitment has always been criticised during his career, and Emery advised him not to waste his talent in PSG.
