Dean Henderson intends to keep the momentum forward wherever he plays, with his highly-rated talent not ready to rest until he hits his ultimate goals.
He joked the Yorkshire Post about his rise to controversy in England: “That’s what you’re working for, isn’t it?”
He then reminisces:
“I recall being at the Villa Moana airport with my missus, it was the first time I’ve dropped a little tear in years.”
“I was there with the (Under) 21s before when it appeared unlikely to become first choice.”
Henderson is of course a productive man who has become accustomed to meeting standards in his comparatively brief career to date.
He has already achieved success with alacrity at Sheffield United during his first season, with Chris Wilder’s team winning instant promotion back into the big time at expectations.
Henderson said about his arrival in 2018 at the Blades: “I went up to see the gaffer and I remember he said, ’This season we should probably get into the play-offs.’
“Like, I was ’we need to get automatic.’ I said it tongue in cheek because it’s been a wonderful season for all the guys, the memories and interactions I’ve built over the past two seasons have been amazing and will stay with me forever.”
Henderson further is aiming to hold his “foot on the accelerator” while he is with Manchester United and England chases ambitious targets:
“I just have to put my foot on the accelerator to work hard to see where it leads me.”
