The German state premiers will decide on steps to further ease the restriction on coronavirus this week.
State premiers are supposed to offer the green signal for the reopening of major stores, possibly from May 11. As such, they have set up a teleconference with Chancellor Angela Merkel scheduled for Wednesday, Reuters announced on Monday.
German states are also expected to permit the Bundesliga soccer league to restart matches from May 15. These matches will be played without fans in stadiums and under other strict safety conditions.
However, state premiers are probably going to encourage non-professionals and children to play outdoor sports as well. To lift restrictions at the same time as resuming football without audiences may seem paradoxical, but that’s the way the German administration is going, the source states.
