Barcelona could sell out 33-year-old Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez this summer, the Spanish media reported.
Suarez has a contract with Barcelona until the summer of 2021, with the option to extend the contract for another year. He has scored 191 goals in six seasons at Barca in 270 appearances.
But the coronavirus pandemic has also caused financial problems for the powerful Barcelona, which has cut salaries significantly for its players.
Another reason for his sale is the possible return of Neymar, and the addition of the 22-year-old striker Lautaro Martinez, who has provided excellent games in the Inter jersey this season.
So, although the Uruguayan footballer has been effective this season, scoring 14 goals, Barca’s leadership fears possible injuries that are common in players of his age. They are also plagued by his high pay.
Suarez himself is interested in more clubs in the American MLS League, and specifically Inter Miami, owned by David Beckham.
