Pakistan’s World Cup Loss: At the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday, Pakistan lost to England by five wickets in the T20 World Cup 2022 championship match. After a spectacular three-for-12 spell from English pacer Sam Curran, Pakistan could only muster 137/8 while batting first. Although Pakistani pacers also kept their team in the chase, England’s 52* performance from Ben Stokes was sufficient for them to reach the mark with six balls left.

The Pakistani fans, who also saw their team lose in the 2022 Asia Cup final, have been dealt another heartbreaking blow. After the game, veteran cricketer Shoaib Akhtar used a heart-break emoticon to express his emotions on Twitter.

The former Pakistani pacer’s Tweet was quickly met with conflicting reactions from Indian supporters. Due to the cricket rivalry between the Indian squad and the Pakistani cricket team, many people applauded England’s victory. Mohammed Shami, an Indian seamer, responded to Shoaib’s Tweet with a playful jab as well. “Sorry brother, it’s called Karma,” Shami wrote.

On November 10, India lost to England by a score of 10 wickets in the second semifinal, eliminating them from playing Pakistan in the championship game. Shoaib Akhtar claimed that India’s embarrassing bowling performance was to blame for their shocking loss and added that the Indian team didn’t deserve to advance to the finals.

The Indian squad, which entered the Super 12 group-stage round as the clear favourite to win the big competition, dominated with eight points from five games. Indian bowlers, however, were unable to restrict England to 168 runs in the semi-final match, and they went on to lose by 10 wickets with four overs remaining.

In his three overs against England, Mohammed Shami let up 39 runs and finished the competition with just six wickets from six innings. The Indian fans are demanding significant changes to the T20I squad due to his dismal performances.
